The January meeting of the Third Thursday Book Club met at the home of Helen Smith. The speakers for this meeting were Cindy and Bill Bergen who moved to Prince Edward County in 2016 from Pennsylvania. They purchased a farm where they could raise their wished-for animals, alpaca. They discussed the characteristics of the alpaca and the care alpaca require. The alpaca come from South America and in October 2018 the Bergens traveled to Peru to visit alpaca farms, processing plants and attended a fiber festival.
