Stabbing, shooting leads to arrest

A 23-year-old man charged with malicious shooting and malicious wounding was arrested Wednesday in Prince Edward County, according to a release from the Prince Edward County Sheriff’s Office.
The release cited that officers responded to Moore Road Jan. 18 in reference to an individual who had been shot.
“The victim was subsequently transported for medical attention,” the release cited. “Upon investigation Mark Tilton, 23, was charged with malicious shooting.”
Sheriff Wesley Reed said warrants went out for Tilton’s arrest following the incident.
Officers responded to an incident Monday at Prince Edward Highway in reference to someone who had been stabbed. The victim was transported for medical attention. The release cited that Tilton was charged with malicious wounding.
The sheriff’s office reported that the office, with assistance from the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force, arrested Tilton Wednesday without incident.
The sheriff’s office cited in the release that the investigations for both incidents are ongoing.
