Cumberland reports nearly 600 outages by Dominion in the Raines Tavern and Trent’s Mill area, with scattered outages throughout. SEC reports 1,022 total outages and CVEC reports 13 outages in the Cumberland area.

Buckingham reports 329 outages by Dominion, 19 by Southside Electric Cooperative and 1,460 by Central Virginia Electric Cooperative, which spans from Buckingham to the Hixburg area of Prince Edward.

CVEC officials said trees fallen on the company’s Pamplin and Mt. Rush sites are currently being cleared.

“We are hopeful that the removal of the trees will allow for restoration,” CVEC officials cited.

“The feed to our Pamplin and Mt. Rush substations has been dropped by Dominion, leaving about 2,000 CVEC members without power,” CVEC said in an announcement Sunday afternoon. “We will provide updates as they are available.”

Crews are assessing damages, according to the outage maps for each of these companies. Restoration times are expected to be announced once they are available.

A release from SEC at 6 p.m. cites that approximately 10,389 members are without power.

SEC crews, with the assistance of mutual aid crews, have worked throughout the day to restore power, and available crew are expected to work throughout the night.

Additional mutual aid crews will arrive Monday morning to assist with restoration, the release cited.

“Please plan for outages to last multiple days due to the extent of damage to our system,” the SEC release cited.
