Miller in custody after failing to re-register as sex offender

Virginia State Police (VSP) announced Tuesday afternoon that Mark Anthony Miller is in VSP custody after turning himself in Monday evening. 

The VSP Sex Offender Investigative Unit, in a previous release, cited Miller was wanted in Prince Edward for failing to re-register as a sex offender.

Miller, 58, is described by the VSP unit as a black male with gray hair and brown eyes. According to police, he is 6 feet, 2 inches in height and weighs approximately 220 pounds.

According to VSP, “Miller was previously employed at a logging operation in Cumberland County and was previously living on Church Street in the town of Farmville. However, he has failed to update the State Police Sex Offender Registry of his residential and employment changes.”

Miller, police cited, was last registered with the Virginia State Police in August of 2018 but did not do so in November. 

According to VSP, Miller was sentenced at the Cumberland County Circuit Court in 1981 for rape and breaking and entering with intent to rape.
