Free tax preparation and filing for taxpayers are being offered in the Farmville area with incomes under $50,000. This is the 10th year a group of volunteers, led by Ellery Sedgwick, have offered this program. The program cannot prepare business returns.

The services are sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). All preparers pass IRS certification tests.

The programs begin Jan. 29 and end April 13.
