Something exciting is going to happen in 2019. The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, a nonprofit organization, is sponsoring a three day, two night trip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, April 2, through Thursday, April 4. The trip will include round trip motorcoach transportation, two nights lodging, two deluxe continental breakfasts, two dinners, a two hour farmland tour, time for shopping and the show “Jesus,” at Sight and Sound Theatres.
Cumberland County Landfill Awareness Committee welcomes all citizens of Cumberland County and surrounding counties to a community meeting concerning the proposed landfill to learn more and receive information about the stand against this issue. The Cumberland County Board of Supervisors monthly meeting is held every second Tuesday unless otherwise announced at 7 p.m. in the Cumberland County Court Room.
Happy birthday wishes are sent out this week to Mary Dimmie of Farmville, Margaret Cole of the Woodlands of Farmville both on Monday, Jan. 14, and Anita Ford of Appomattox.
Happy anniversary wishes go out to Ralph and Fern Dunnavant of Dillwyn who will be celebrating 28 years of marriage on Saturday, Jan. 12, Danny and Janet Powers of Cumberland and Paul and Elaine Myers of Dillwyn on Wednesday, Jan. 16.
A large crowd attended the 80th birthday party celebration for the Rev. Clyde Senger of Crewe, Pastor of the Keysville Baptist Temple. The event was held at the Crewe Volunteer Fire Department. Everyone enjoyed great food, fun and fellowship.
The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, a nonprofit organization, will be entering its 31st year as a group. All members and prospective members are asked to come and join us for our first meeting and lunch Saturday at 1 p.m. at Welcome Wesleyan Church located on U.S. Route 15 North 26565 James Madison Hwy., Dillwyn. All members are asked to bring a covered dish for the meal. Following will be the January program.
