Centra Medical Group Orthopedics welcomes new staff

Dr. William Andrews, M.D., FCCP and William Fluker, PA-C, are the newest additions to the Centra Medical Group Orthopedics Center. They join Dr. Kona and Marcy Cole, PA-C, ATC in the Centra Southside Medical Center at 935 South Main St., Farmville.

Dr. Andrews graduated “Phi Beta Kappa” with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in French Literature from Duke University. He also received his medical degree from Duke University. He completed his internship and surgery residency at University of Virginia Hospital. His orthopedic residency was completed at Duke University.

Most recently he has been an orthopedic surgeon at Ortho Virginia. Dr. Andrews was a Clinical Instructor of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Virginia, and an adjunct faculty member at Duke University Medical School. He has numerous presentations and publications, and is a member of many professional societies, including being inducted as a Fellow in the American Orthopedic Association.

Andrews’ hobbies include serving others on mission trips, and he has been on over 20 mission trips with Kids First, traveling to Mexico, Columbia, Brazil and the Dominican Republic. His other hobbies include swimming, running, traveling and spending time with grandchildren.

Bill Fluker, PA-C, received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Kentucky, in Lexington, Kentucky. He has a Bachelor of Science in the Physician Assistant Program from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Most recently, he has been with Ortho Virginia, where the primary focus was total joint replacements and general orthopedics.

Fluker is a member of American Academy of Physician Assistants and Southern Orthopedic Association. His hobbies include spending time with family and friends, golfing and hiking, and staying active in his church.

These new providers offer specialized orthopedic care to all age groups to include: Total Joints, sports, hand, shoulder, foot, children’s orthopedics, trauma, and all general orthopedic procedures. Also, graft preparation, bone harvesting and closure procedures are available.
