The Kappa Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will participate in the American Heart Association’s (AHA) National Wear Red Day to raise awareness in the fight against heart disease and stroke in women. The sorority is a national strategic alliance of the AHA’s Go Red For Women movement.

Feb. 1, sorority members will host “Pump Up Your Heart with ZUMBA” at Prince Edward County Elementary School in Farmville from 6:30-8 p.m. The event will include Zumba, free blood pressure reading and glucose testing. Healthy snacks and drinks will be provided and the community is welcome to join in.

As part of the admission to the event, a donation of gently used shoes in support of the Soles 4 Souls project or a monetary donation.
