Weather update: expect snowfall into evening, some outages reported

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Wakefield is reporting snowfall into the evening, and the chance for ice along the roads as the temperatures dip below freezing overnight.
“Plan on dangerous road conditions with difficult travel,” the NWS report cited. “The wet nature of the snow will also allow it to stick to tree limbs which could cause some isolated outages.”
While no widespread outages have been reported in Buckingham, Cumberland or Prince Edward, the Southside Electric Cooperative (SEC) outage map reports approximately 19 outages in Cumberland and 37 in Prince Edward. Crews are assessing damages at these areas.
Probabilistic measurements in Prince Edward report anywhere from 9-14 total inches of snow and Cumberland anywhere from 7-12 total inches, though potential for localized increases are possible.
