Hearing set for ACP tower

A public hearing to get input from the public about a proposed lighted microwave tower from the Atlantic Coast Pipeline (ACP) LLC is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 11 on the third floor of 111 South St., the Prince Edward County Courthouse.
The special use permit for the tower had previously been recommended by the Prince Edward County Planning Commission.
The proposed tower, according to documentation from Prince Edward County, is approximately 225 feet in height. The tower is proposed to be located on the west side of Route 617, Saylers Creek Road, approximately 0.6 of a mile north of Route 307, Holly Farms Road.
According to a public notice from the county, the parcel of land, zoned as Agricultural-1, is owned by Terri Atkins Wilson. Wilson currently serves as the attorney for the Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors.
