Empty Bowls is an international, grassroots, crafts-based effort to end hunger. For a 10-dollar ticket participants enjoyed soup and a beverage along with a beautiful handmade bowl to keep and community fellowship all while supporting a good cause. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Virginia Cooperate Extension, which serves to eliminate hunger in the Prince Edward County area.
The bowls were created by the Longwood University Ceramics Department and soup was donated by Fishin’ Pig, one19, Uptown Café, Alanna Rivera of Farmville Habitat for Humanity and Dr. Brown-Meredith Assistant Professor, Social Work at Longwood University. Drinks were provided by Chick-Fil-A.
