Cumberland County Landfill Awareness Committee will have a community meeting concerning the proposed landfill to learn more and receive information about the stand against this issue. The 2018 fall Miles Reunion was held on Saturday, Oct. 13, at Golden Corral in Richmond where a nice crowd attended and enjoyed lots of good food, fun and fellowship.

Buckingham Baptist Church, located 24234 N. James Madison Hwy, New Canton, will be hosting a fall festival on Saturday from noon-4 p.m. to benefit building and grounds. Activities to include delicious stew, cakewalk, games and activities will be provided for the children, special music “All Problems Solved” featuring Floyd Reid and Worm Patterson and a car show. Classes to include Ford, Chevy, Dodge and imports. There will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each class. People’s choice and best in show trophies will be given out. A night of worship, preaching and prayer focused on bringing the Hope and Healing of Jesus to our beautiful Central Virginia Community on Saturday starting at 6 p.m. at Courtland Field, 217 Atwood St., Appomattox.
