Centra Health is set to hold a town hall meeting in Farmville Friday to dialogue with community members about the organization and to answer questions residents may have.
The meeting is scheduled to take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Woodland Inc. at 2003 Cobb St.
Centra Health, based in Lynchburg, operates Centra Southside Community Hospital, Centra Medical Group and Centra PACE in Farmville.
E.W. Tibbs, the CEO of Centra Health, tendered his resignation Sept. 27.
Diane Ludwig with Centra Health said the community town hall in Farmville is one of similar events taking place at Centra Health’s service areas.
“We want to have an open dialogue with our community and answer any questions they may have about Centra, the hospital or health care in general,” Ludwig said.
Ludwig said the meeting is set to be held in a panel format. Panelist include Thomas Angelo, Centra Southside Community Hospital CEO; Michael Elliott, Interim President and CEO of Centra; and Bill Bass, Senior Vice President of Community Hospitals.
Ludwig said questions can be asked during the meeting by raising their hand.
She said there is no set agenda or presentations for the meeting, citing that the topics of the meeting will be based by questions or comments from residents.
“Centra is genuinely interested in hearing from our community,” Ludwig said. “This is our way of doing two things, listening to our community and answering those burning questions they have. If there are things we should be doing, or doing better to deliver care, then we want to hear it!”
