What is Donald Trump trying to hide? Trump is the only major party nominee for president in 40 years who has not released his or her tax returns. Prior to the presidential election, Trump claimed that he could not release his tax returns because he was under an IRS audit.

However, according to the IRS, there is no law or regulation preventing anyone from releasing their tax returns – even when they are being audited. So, we are still waiting to see Trump’s tax returns. Now Trump is calling the U.S. Department of Justice Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election a “witch hunt.”

If Trump has nothing to hide, why is he afraid of Mueller’s investigation? Is Trump afraid that his tax return or the special Justice Department investigation will reveal a Trump-Russia connection?

That would partially explain why Trump shows such admiration and deference for Russian President Vladimir Putin and why Trump is siding with the Russians over his own Justice Department, our FBI and other U.S. intelligence and security sources who have definitively concluded that the Russians meddled in the 2016 presidential election.

So once again I ask: What is Trump hiding?
