Hampden-Sydney College’s (H-SC) football team will begin its 2018 campaign Saturday, 6 p.m., at Averett University.

Last year, the Tigers hosted the Cougars and prevailed narrowly, 20-17.

Both teams finished the 2017 season with 6-4 records.

Averett enters this year with high expectations, as noted in a school release. Officials added that the Cougars finished second in the USA South Athletic Conference last year and return a wealth of talent on offense, defense and special teams, joining several key transfers.
