Glen Allen stands with his 1970 Ford truck Saturday at the Fireman’s Arena. His involvement with the Moton Family Challenge and Robert Russa Moton Museum is evident, including helping host car and truck shows in the area to raise funds. Allen, whose mother was affected by school closings in Prince Edward County from 1959-1964, is part of a friendly competition between families in the county with similar experiences, who see who can raise the most funds for the museum and the museum’s scholarship program. Allen and others residents involved with the Moton Family Challenge are to be commended for their time, dedication and creativity in helping area youth reach their goals and support an important museum and education center in the county.
