Kate Pickett Eggleston provided an economic development report at the Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors’ July 10 meeting and revealed that she had been quite busy since accepting an offer from Prince Edward County to take on the economic developer role that had been open since June 2016.
In her presentation, she noted that among the key tasks/activities she has been given as a board priority is the development of “a list of local organizations that can assist the county in achieving its goals. Reach out to those organizations identified; obtain their buy-in to assist the county. Work with those willing to determine existing gaps in the county’s business community and identify opportunities for business development.”
She noted the many meetings and key involvement she has had with a variety of area organizations in the name of completing her assigned activities. We commend Eggleston for her dedication to this county.
She closed her presentation by saying, “I grew up here in Prince Edward County, and with two young children, it’s really important to me that this place grows and thrives, and I really want to be a part of that.”
