A pedestrian was found to not have serious injuries after an accident Wednesday when a vehicle struck the pedestrian crossing the intersection at the 1500 block of S. Main Street.
Farmville Police Department and Longwood Police Department responded to the incident at approximately 8:15 p.m. and redirected traffic while evaluating the scene. Prince Edward Volunteer Rescue Squad brought an ambulance to examine the pedestrian.
Sgt. Gary Williams and Officer Peter Carter on scene said the pedestrian, was crossing the intersection at South Main Street when he was struck by the vehicle.
Police said the driver of the vehicle did not see the pedestrian due to sunlight being in the driver’s eyes. The pedestrian was crossing the segment of the road that did not have a crosswalk.
After being checked out by the rescue squad in the ambulance, the pedestrian was released and did not have injuries following the accident.
Williams said neither the driver nor the pedestrian will face charges.
