Raiders from Buckingham County High School U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) participated in one of the nation’s premier leadership camps, JCLC (JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge) at Fort Pickett. The mission of the camp is, “To motivate young people to be better citizens.” Cadets were challenged both physically and mentally.
Special Honors were presented to Cadet Tyler Moore for being the top male athlete. Moore completed 81 pushups and 64 curl-ups in one minute each and ran 1 mile in four minutes and 49 seconds. Joshua Meek and Isabel Martinez received honorable mentions from their respective companies. DaQuan Tindall, for the second consecutive year, led the JCLC Drill Team to win first place out of six platoons. Pictured are, from left, Meek, Moore, Tindall and Isablel Martinez.
