Prince Edward County High School 2018 graduate Sarah Edwards, right, has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship from Benchmark Community Bank.

Presented by Cheryl Gee, vice president/branch manager for the two Farmville locations, during the school’s recent senior awards program, the annual $mart$tart Community Commitment Scholarship recognizes dedication to community and extracurricular service throughout a student’s high school career.

Edwards plans to attend Lynchburg College where she will major in nursing.
