CVA’s annual membership meeting will take place at 5 p.m. on June 26 at the Atkinson Museum at Hampden-Sydney College at the beginning of the reception for the All Members Show. All members in good standing are urged to vote. Contact Pat Howe if unsure about your membership standing.
In order to present a slate of Officers and Directors for election, the CVA needs some members to volunteer to be appointed to the temporary nominating committee. Consider serving on the nominating committee which is dissolved after the election June 26. Contact Ursula Burgess to serve on the nominating committee.
The nominating committee will put together candidates willing to serve on the Board for the 2018/2019 term. Candidates have to be CVA members. According to the Bylaws of CVA, “Officers shall serve for terms of one year. They may not serve more than two consecutive terms.” There are currently six Directors on the Board which serve for three years. Some positions are up for re-election. CVA Coordinators are appointed by the new administration if necessary.
In order to keep Central Virginia Arts alive we need active participation, and you should consider to volunteer for the coming year. The diversity of a rotating Board makes us stronger and keeps us current.
Contact by email or phone to serve on the nominating committee for this year’s election at (434) 645-1933, ucburgess@gmail.com. If interested in serving on the Board as Officer or Director, the CVA will post the new nominating committee as soon as it is formed.
