Book signing event

On Thursday, June 21 at 5:30 p.m. the Robert Russa Moton Museum, in partnership with the Marsh Memoirs Committee, is honored to present a historic occasion: An Evening with the Hon. Henry L. Marsh III: Book Signing Event.

The Hon. Henry L. Marsh III, born in Richmond, Virginia in 1933, is an eminent American civil rights lawyer and politician. Marsh was elected as the first African-American mayor of Richmond, in 1977. In 1991, he was elected to the Senate of Virginia.

Senator Marsh has deep connections to Prince Edward County. As a young attorney in 1964, Marsh helped to argue and win Griffin v. Prince Edward, the U.S. Supreme Court case that reopened Prince Edward County schools and saved public education for the nation.
