Bible school begins

The Cumberland County Board of Supervisors monthly meeting is held every second Tuesday unless otherwise announced at 7 p.m. in the Cumberland County Circuit Courtroom.
The Cumberland County Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will be hosting a gun raffle on Wednesday, July 4. First prize, a Ruger American 243 Belt Action Raffle, second prize, a Remington 870 Express 3.5 Magnum 12 gauge and third prize, a Savage 93R 17 HMR Belt Action Rifle. You can get your tickets from Napa in Cumberland or any Auxiliary member.
Jones Chapel Baptist Church located on 947 Trents Mill Road in Cumberland will be hosting Vacation Bible School June 24 – 29. Registration will be Sunday 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. with Bible School each night from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. This years theme is “Shipwrecked.” Children ages 2 years old to 12th grade are welcome.
Happy anniversary wishes go out this week to John and Cathy Trammel of Farmville on Tuesday.

Irene Shumaker of Farmville and Ann Jones of New Canton both Friday, June 22, Cathy Midkiff of Cumberland Saturday Peggy Johnson of Buckingham and Grace Ownby of North Carolina both on Sunday and Dale Midkiff and Frances Smith both of Dillwyn, Thursday June 28.
A speedy recovery is sent out to all those who are sick and shut-in.
Buckingham Baptist Church located at 24234 North James Madison Hwy, Arvonia will be hosting Vacation Bible School June 25 – 29 from 5:45 p.m. – 8:45 p.m. This year’s theme is “Game On”. Pre-registration along with an ice cream social will be held Sunday from 6 – 7 p.m. Children from 4 years old to 16 years old are welcome.
