2018 PVCC graduates announced

Three graduates were among more than 1,000 graduates who received degrees and certificates at Piedmont Virginia Community College’s (PVCC) 45th annual commencement on May 11. The graduating class includes students that completed their studies during the 2017 summer and fall semesters and the 2018 spring and summer semesters. Graduates from our area include, Rebecca Ragland, of Buckingham. Ragland was awarded an associate of applied science degree in general studies. A 2017 graduate of Buckingham County High School, she is the daughter of Kenneth and Sherry Ragland of Buckingham. She is employed with Virginia Cooperative Extension in Buckingham. Rachel Snoddy, cum laude, of Buckingham, was awarded an associate of applied science degree in nursing. A 2012 graduate of Buckingham County High School, she is the daughter of Charles and Jennifer Snoddy of Buckingham. She is employed with Pediatric Associates of Charlottesville. Stephan Proffitt was awarded an associate of applied science degree in science and a career studies certificate in administration of justice. A 2001 graduate of Lakeview High School, he is the son of Daniel and Mitzi Proffitt of Arvonia. He is employed with the Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office and plans to attend Liberty University or Old Dominion University. He and his spouse, Selena Proffitt, reside in Arvonia.
