A driver was charged with reckless driving – failure to maintain control following a single-vehicle accident on Route 360 that struck a telephone pole Monday, Virginia State Police (VSP) confirmed.
“A 2005 Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Route 360 near the Charlotte County Line when the driver lost control of the vehicle,” Susan Rowland with VSP said. “The truck ran off the right side of the road, overturned and struck a telephone pole.”
The incident took place at approximately 7:15 a.m. Monday, Rowland said. Rowland said VSP was called to the scene.
“The driver and sole occupant of the truck – Dalton B. Karow, 19, of Salisbury, NC – was not injured,” Rowland said. “He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.”
“Karow is charged with reckless driving – failure to maintain control,” Rowland said. “The crash remains under investigation.”
The Herald could not locate the company that owned the telephone pole, or any potential outages, before press time.
