The Third Thursday Book Club held its April meeting at the home of Beth Woodruff. Esther Taylor High and Janis Taylor Whitehead, the authors of the book “Small But Mighty: The Impact of a Little Country Church,” were the speakers. Their book is a collection of biographies of  families that are members of Springfield Baptist Church in Meherrin. The book is about the many accomplishments that the members of this small, rural, African-American church have achieved.
