Aubrey M. Herndon, 85, of New Canton, entered the gates of his eternally home with his heavenly father, on Thursday, April 26, 2018. He was born on July 25, 1932. Aubrey was a retired Electrician from (VEPCO) Dominion Energy after 30 years of service. He was an active member of the Stonewall Masonic Lodge and served in the US Army during the Korean War. Aubrey was a member of Buckingham Baptist Church for 73 years and served as a Deacon for many of those years. Aubrey was an avid gardener, hunter and loved his honey bees.

Aubrey was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence V. and Ruth D. Herndon, Sr., brothers, Robert Herndon and Clarence V. Herndon, Jr. and son, Craig R. Herndon.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Anne Herndon; sons, David M. Herndon (Debbie) and Bruce A. Herndon; three sisters, Frances Ducsai, Martha Thompson and Carrie O’Neal (Michael); sister-in-law, Rose Herndon; six granddaughters, Melissa, Stephanie, Samantha, Tiffany, Emily and Holly, and one grandson, Cody; ten great-grandchildren, five nieces and one nephew.

Funeral services were April 30, 2018 at Buckingham Baptist Church, New Canton, with interment, with Military Honors and Masonic Rites, in the church cemetery.
