Let’s all show our support of the Buckingham 4-H Livestock Club members as their hard work culminates in the Piedmont Junior Livestock Show in Blackstone on Saturday. Our young people will show four different species of animals to include swine, beef, sheep and goats. They have all worked diligently to prepare so let’s come out and cheer them on. The livestock show schedule includes the swine show at 10 a.m., the beef show at 12:30 p.m., the lamb show at 2:15 p.m., and the goat show at 4:30 p.m. Good luck, Buckingham 4-H Livestock Club.
The Dillwyn Fire Department is having its spring barbecue chicken fundraiser on Sunday, May 6. Chicken should be ready by noon. Tickets can be purchased at the door (as long as supplies last) or pre-buy at Moss Motor in Dillwyn. This event also features a raffle where the lucky winner goes home with a new chain saw. While winter may be over, firewood time will arrive again in early fall so this will certainly come in handy then. Don’t miss out.
