Buckingham County Public Schools is holding kindergarten registration on Thursday, April 26, from 5-7 p.m. and Friday, April 27, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. for the 2018-19 school year. Parents, bring your child during these hours to register for kindergarten. Students must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 30. Bring the following documentation with you on the day of registration: two proofs of residency (i.e., driver’s license, utility bill, rental agreement), birth certificate, physical examination report (must be dated within 12 months of the first day of school), and immunization record (immunizations must be up to date). If you do not have the above documents, it is very helpful to register now. Documents must be on file at BCPS by the first day of school. The Buckingham Extension Office wants to hear from you about what you think the needs of the county are. Specifically, they are identifying needs and determining if their current program offerings are in line with those needs or should be realigned. There will be multiple opportunities throughout the year to share your ideas. The first is coming up on Monday at an open house from 10 a.m.-noon where you can drop by, have a cup of coffee and cake or cookies, and chat for a few minutes about what you see as needs in the county. There is also an online survey that you can fill out to express your opinion. Visit https://tinyurl.com/Buckingham-Survey.
