Fuqua students learn about Greek pottery

Fuqua School’s fourth- and fifth-grade students have been enjoying art class while learning about history in the process. The students made large, plaster gauze urns based on Greek pottery. The class used this project to discuss Greek pottery and decorations, Greek achievement and its impact on present-day culture. The students used balloons, paper plates and cups, tape, newspaper and plaster gauze to construct them; then they painted them with tempera. The pottery is on display in the Fuqua Lower School Media Center as an exhibit.
