Winter sticks around

It looks and feels like Old Man Winter does not want to leave us.

Mrs. Flora Bolt visited Lucille and Martha Alice at Brookview on March 16.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hertzler and Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith enjoyed lunch together at Ruby Tuesday’s on Sunday afternoon.

Monday evening Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith hosted the Faith Bible Fellowship Small Group covered dish at their home. Attending were Mrs. Hilde Watson, Mr. and Mrs. Richard McClintock and Mr. and Mrs. John Utzinger.

Mrs. Flora Bolt attended the March meeting of the United Daughters of the Confederacy held at the Farmville-Prince Edward Community Library on March 14.

The Prospect Happy Hats held their March meeting on March 15 at Merk’s Place. Jeannette Tarlton was hostess for the meeting. She gave each member items for St. Patrick’s Day. Those joining Tarlton for a fun-filled time were Hilda Allen, Sue Case, Lois Johnson, Jean Hensley, Betty Meadows, Ann Norton, Rita Rountree, Margaret Stockton, Betty Sumner, Elsie Wilson and Dolly Worthy. Also present were James Tarlton and Richard Stockton.

Friends and neighbors are praying for speedy recoveries for Don Meadows, Fred Floyd and Betty Jean Bolt.

The members of Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invite you to worship with them each Sunday; Bill Aiken, of Rustburg, will be the guest speaker March 25.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday school is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. The Church is located at 302 Industrial Park Road, in the former Stackpole-Carbone building.

The Remnant Church invites you to worship with them on Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m.; Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday nights at 6:30 p.m. The pastor is Jeff Spencer. The church is located at 1825 E. Third St. in Farmville at the old Cedar Brook Restaurant building.

Concord Baptist Church at 12053 Francisco Road, Farmville invites you to their Sunday School at 10 a.m., Worship service at 11 a.m. and Bible study at 5:30 p.m. each Sunday.
