Raymond Knight Carter

Raymond Knight Carter, 92, passed away on March 27, 2018. He was born August 24, 1925 in Cartersville, Va. and raised in Cartersville. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Helen Price Carter, and 5 sisters and 3 brothers. He is survived by a son, Raymond Carter Jr. and wife Dawn of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, grandsons Jason Carter of Daphne Alabama, and Troy Carter of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida and great grandaughter Ava Carter of Daphne, Alabama. Also survived by a sister, Jean Ann Duke, and Mr. Carter’s loving companion Barbara Brannan, and many loving and caring nieces, nephews and cousins. He retired from B.F. Goodrich with 38 years of service, and worked many years at Parrish Motor Company. He was a Mason for over 67 years. Special thanks to his loving nephews and nieces, sister, and the wonderful staff at Mary’s Home Away From Home during his final days.

Funeral Services will be held at the Cartersville Baptist Church, Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 2 p.m. with visitation one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cartersville Baptist Church and the Cartersville Fire Department.
