The Farmville Police Department has developed five people it considers to be persons of interest in a recent series of vehicle thefts and a gun store burglary. The department is requesting help from the public in identifying these individuals.
Farmville Police announced Thursday it was investigating three stolen vehicles and a burglary that occurred at Farmville Sporting Goods on North Main Street early Thursday morning. Police said that shortly before 5 a.m., at least four suspects forced their way into the business and took merchandise. No firearms were reported stolen.
Farmville Police are also investigating three cases of stolen vehicles reported in a 24 hour period. A statement issued by the department notes that police are currently searching for a maroon 1996 Ford Explorer with Virginia license plate ADK-9386.
Police said the vehicle was taken sometime during the early morning hours from a home located on Landon Street in the Town of Farmville.
Also stolen were a red 2015 GMC pickup truck from Fourth Avenue Extension, and a silver 2003 Chevy four-door sedan from the Greens South area. Both vehicles are believed to have been involved in an attempted burglary of a business earlier Thursday morning in Buckingham County, but have now been recovered,” police said.
All three have now been recovered as a statement issued by the department Friday noted police had recovered the third vehicle stolen March 8 from a residence on Landon Street. The maroon 1996 Ford Explorer was found in a parking lot at the intersection of Cedar and Longwood avenues.
Anyone who may recognize the individuals in the photos provided or who may have any information relating to these crimes are urged to contact the Farmville Police Department at (434) 392-9259.
