A 48-year-old Pamplin man pled guilty in Virginia Beach Circuit Court to one count of rape, one count of forcible sodomy with a victim 13 years or younger and one charge of aggravated sexual battery with a victim 13 years or younger, according to the Virginia Courts Case Information System. Donald Rodney Jones was arrested Feb. 16, 2017 in Prince Edward County.
According to Maj. David Wilmouth, the Prince Edward County Sheriff’s Office delivered the warrant for Jones’ arrest on behalf of the Appomattox Division of the Virginia State Police (VSP). According to VSP Spokeswoman Corinne Geller, the warrant was originally secured by the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD).
VBPD Spokeswoman Lisa Kuehn said Jones’ charges stem from incidents that allegedly occurred between 1995 and 2000.
According to the Virginia Courts Case Information website, Jones previously faced an indecent liberties charge, for which he took a plea agreement that amended the charge to sexual battery. He was sentenced to a suspended one year in jail and five years of unsupervised probation.
