Holiday Inn Express & Suites, the hotel currently under construction by the Hampton Inn & Suites on Sunchase Boulevard, is set to open in June, a representative of the hotel said Tuesday.

Trey Steigman is vice president of development with Management Services Corp., which is the developer and the owner’s representative of the lodging. The same group owns the neighboring Hampton Inn. Steigman said the new hotel will contain a host of amenities and nearly 100 guest rooms.

In an email Tuesday, Steigman noted the Holiday Inn Express & Suites will feature 29 suite-style rooms, nearly a third of its inventory.

The lodging was initially projected to open last December. Steigman said the project has faced delays, which are common.

“A construction schedule is a future projection which is routinely updated over time to adjust for numerous factors,” Steigman said Wednesday. “In this case, we have experienced several months of weather-related delays and several months of contractor-related delays that impacted the construction schedule. That said, construction schedule adjustments and/or delays are not unusual when associated with major construction projects of this nature.”

Among the guest rooms are two double queen guest rooms, two guest king rooms and a king suite guest room that will be disability accessible.

Amenities, according to documentation provided by Steigman, include high-speed internet, an indoor pool connected to an outdoor patio/sundeck area, a 24-hour fitness center, conference and meeting rooms and a complimentary breakfast bar.
