A delivery service that brings fare from area restaurants to homes or businesses in the Town of Farmville has recently opened, the owner of WayFast Delivery confirmed.

Jacob Jamerson, the owner, said the location opened at 1001 E. Third St., Suite 1 on Feb. 14.

The delivery service, according to the WayFast Delivery website, “provides a simple and fast way to purchase food from the comfort of your home.”

Participants can order online, at the store location or by phone, the website and Jamerson cited.

“You can also just call in,” Jamerson said. “We can place an order right here. You don’t have to go online or anything.”

Jamerson said the service can currently deliver meals from The Fishin’ Pig, La Parota and Bojangles only. He said they are looking to increase the number of restaurants they will deliver from.

Jamerson, who graduated from Prince Edward County High School and attended Longwood University, said he pursued this idea for a few years. The company was first a grocery delivery service, Jamerson said.

“It’s been about two years in the making,” Jamerson said.

He said the company currently has six delivery drivers and their delivery hours are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Jamerson said they are looking to hire a few more drivers and increase their delivery hours in the future.

“Once we get fully staffed and once we get a couple more restaurants on board, then we’re going to open up our hours even further, and hope to hire a couple more drivers as well to handle the bigger orders,” Jamerson said.

He said the average amount of time for a delivery is between 30-45 minutes, “about the same time you get a pizza,” Jamerson said.

There is a waiting room and dining room inside of the location, where people can sit at a sofa and watch TV or catch up on work or school, Jamerson said.

Jamerson said WayFast takes 15 percent of the order amount.

He said the company delivers from an 8-mile radius that begins at Longwood University.
