Morris Leads Lady Eagles on track

Prince Edward County High School sophomore Makayla Morris won the girls high jump at the 2018 Fred Hardy Indoor Track Invitational on Saturday at the Estes Athletic Center in Fork Union. Her winning 5-foot-2-inch jump helped the Lady Eagles tie for 18th out of 37 teams to generate points at the event. Junior Salma Muhammad placed sixth in the girls long jump with a 15-foot-5 3/4-inch leap, and the girls 4×200-meter relay team placed ninth out of 30 teams with a 1:56.96 time. The team included Morris, Muhammad, sophomore Mia Seay and junior Jordan Booker.
