Two on trial for child sex charges

Two separate cases involving child sex charges will see trial Jan. 10 in Prince Edward County Circuit Court.
Michael Tyrone Booker, of Farmville, will be seen regarding two charges of sodomy with a victim age 13 or younger, two charges of indecent act with child by parent, two charges of sodomy with a family member and two charges of aggravated sexual battery with a victim 13 years or younger. Booker received a sentence from Cumberland County Circuit Court of 40 years in jail with 15 years suspended for a charge of sodomy with a victim 13 years or younger, 40 years in jail with 40 years suspended for a second count of the same charge and 20 years in jail with 20 years suspended for a charge of aggravated sexual battery. In addition, he received indefinite supervised probation for all three charges and was ordered to pay $1,585 in court costs.
In September 2016, Cumberland County Sheriff Darrell Hodges said the allegations went back three years.
“It started in Cumberland and then continued in Prince Edward,” Hodges said in a previous interview.
Lyric Dunn, of New York, will be on trial for seven charges of indecent liberties with a minor 15 years or younger, one charge of cause with a minor 15 years or younger to perform in porn, six charges of carnal knowledge with a victim between 13 and 14 years old without force and one charge of identify false self to law enforcement. According to the Virginia Courts Case Information System, the offenses took place on July 22, Aug. 19 and Aug. 21. She was originally arrested Sept. 5.
