Not too far from Holliday Lake State Park along the Appomattox River was a Native American village where people began living about 6,000 years ago.
“Stones shaped by force and attached to end of a wooden shaft became the predominant method for hunting and defense for this culture and others around the world,” officials said in the release, “Join us to learn the ancient art of spear-throwing with a modern twist, and discover your connections to the people of the past.”
The release cited that the program is designed for anyone 10 years of age and older and that the program will take place on May 19.
