Rogers Graves Bowman of Farmville, age 78, passed away on Jan. 1, 2018.

He was preceded in death by his wife Erlene Hubbard Bowman, infant daughter Lisa Annette, Brother Forrest Pennington Barron and his parents.

He was born in Nottoway County on Feb. 20, 1939 to Sarah Brooks and James Allen Bowman. He was a retired self-employed truck driver and a previous employee of Stackpole and J.J. Newberry’s.

Mr. Bowman is survived by his daughter Maria Dickinson, Son In-Law Robert and the apple of his eye and partner in crime his beloved granddaughter Alexandra Dickinson, Sister In-Law, Theresa Barron, nephew and nieces James Barron (Sandra), Buddy Barron (Kathy), Vanessa Wilkerson (Danny), Phyllis Townsend (Alan) and David Barron (Lorrie). Many great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday Jan. 13 1 p.m. at Trinity Memorial Gardens followed by a reception at the Hampden-Sydney College Church.
