Those in the Heart of Virginia may have a new dermatology office to visit in the Town of Farmville.
Ridgeview Dermatology, based in Lynchburg, has opened a new location at 935 S. Main St. inside of the Centra Southside Medical Center.
A social media post from the dermatology office made the announcement about the Farmville location on Jan. 2.
The post cited that this is the fourth location that the dermatology office has opened.
Representatives from Ridgeview will be on- site at the Farmville office on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with 3 p.m. being when the last patients are accepted.
Kamal Chantal, dermatologist and physician’s assistant, and Mandy Wilkes-Hoffmeister, dermatologist and certified family nurse practitioner, are the two Ridgeview representatives that will be on-site at the Farmville office.
Chantal will work Tuesdays and Wilkes-Hoffmeister will work Fridays, marketing representative Sarah Cozzens said.
Their specializations, Cozzens said, are general dermatology and surgical excisions.
Chantal said Tuesday that he had a tie to the Farmville area, having attended Longwood University as an undergraduate in the early 2000s.
“It’s changed dramatically since 2002,” Chantal said. “Downtown Farmville looks great.”
“I’m excited to be here,” Chantal said about the office.
