Commonwealth Chorale seeks singers for spring concert

Interested singers are invited to join the Commonwealth Chorale in preparation for spring performances of Mozart’s magnificent oratorio, Requiem, along with selected choruses and arias from the Easter portion of Handel’s Messiah. Rehearsals will be held Tuesday evenings, beginning Feb. 6, from 7-10 p.m. at Farmville Presbyterian Church, 200 W. Third St. All are welcome to participate; no auditions are required. Performance dates will be March 11, 3 p.m., at Farmville Presbyterian Church and March 18, 3 p.m., at Farmville United Methodist Church, 212 High St. Noted Richmond organist Jeffery Hummel will provide accompaniment on the rare Von Beckerath Organ of the Presbyterian Church and the fine organ of the Methodist Church. Young singers ages 12 and over are also invited to rehearse with the adults.
