The Farmville Area Chamber of Commerce’s New Year’s Eve Eve Event, set for Saturday, is sold out, but those who are interested in attending may be in luck if anyone with tickets find they are unable to attend.
“There’s a limit on how many people we can fit into the arena so we have to be careful, if anyone is interested in a ticket they can email me but at this point, unless I hear that people are selling tickets or can’t come, at this point we do not have any extra availability,” Stump said.
The event will take place at the Farmville Firemen’s Sports Arena
From 6-8 p.m. the Chamber will give out seven awards. According to Stump, Navona Hart will receive the citizen of the year award, Brad Watson will receive member of the year award and Hunter Watson will receive the lifetime achievement award.
“We’re giving out four more which will be announced that night,” Stump said.
She said those awards will be new business of the year, business of the year, nonprofit business of the year and looking our best. She said from 8 p.m.-midnight there will be a celebration event, “that’s just like our holiday celebration.”
She said it includes a band, an open bar and food.
“(Businesses) decorate their tables and they have a contest … We give out three prizes for table decorating,” Stump said.
She said it’s the second year doing the event.
