The Virso Recreation and Community Center, located at 688 Virso Road in Meherrin, held an inaugural Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Dec. 2, which included face painting, music, caroling, hot chocolate, coffee, chili soup, hot dogs and Santa Claus.
