The October meeting of the Redbud Garden Club was held Oct. 24 at Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Dottie Fahrner and Jo Smith as hostesses. Smith

led the group in devotions. Cynthia Wood gave an interesting, informative and delicious program on “Cooking with Herbs.” She brought a number of herbs and gave tips on cutting and using them in cooking. Cynthia prepared numerous dishes using interesting combinations of herbs and each member got to sample what she brought. Blue ribbons were awarded to Rebecca Giles, Mary Hazlegrove, Janet Higgins, Ann Ligon and Nancy Schaeffer for “Bewitched” – an abstract Halloween design featuring unusual line material. Patsy Miessler, Audrey Robinson, Geraldine Sanderson and Joyce Thompson received red ribbons. “Falling for You” (any design featuring leaves) earned blue ribbons for Liz Dunn, Dottie Fahrner, Rebecca Giles, Janet Higgins, Ann Ligon, Audrey Robinson, Nancy Schaeffer and Sarah Schember with Mary Hazlegrove receiving a red. Specimen ribbons were awarded as follows:  Rebecca Giles, 2 Blue; Janet Higgins, 3 Blue; Nancy Schaeffer, 4 Blue, 3 Red, 1 Yellow.
