Concord Baptist Church invites you to their Fall Harvest Celebration and Trunk or Treat. The event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 3-8 p.m. at the church’s outdoor pavilion and Focus Center at 6114 Deer Run Road in Farmville. Join them for an afternoon of fall fellowship, homemade Brunswick stew, small livestock exhibit, and other activities for both the young and young at heart. Children can enjoy trunk or treat following dinner.
Hold the date. The Piedmont Area Junior Livestock Show will take place on April 28, 2018 for 4-H and Future Farmers of America (FFA) youth ages 9-19 at the Blackstone Livestock Market. Exhibitors from the Piedmont area compete in the categories of beef, goat, sheep and swine. Each individual learns responsibility, the importance of agriculture, and valuable showmanship lessons. At the end of the day, each participant receives more than ribbons as they gain experience and confidence. Preparations for April’s show begin soon as participants need to begin to acquire and work with their animals for the show. For more information, contact the Buckingham Extension Office at (434) 969-4261.
