Fuqua varsity football game against King and Queen Central canceled

Fuqua School’s varsity football game against visiting King and Queen Central High School which had been set for this past Friday at 7 p.m. was canceled.
Falcons Head Coach Ben Manis said the Royal Tigers forfeited due to injuries and suspensions.
“They had several injuries and suspensions…” Manis said. “They are not eligible to play this week per their school rules.”
Charles Thomas, Fuqua’s athletic director, said the game will not be rescheduled, and he cannot find a game to replace it.
The first Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association state ratings came out Wednesday, with Fuqua (3-1) ranked No. 2 in Division III behind only Roanoke Catholic School (5-0).
The Falcons will return to action Friday when they host the Roanoke Catholic Celtics at 7 p.m.
