Festival set for Oct. 14

Cedar Baptist Church, located at 3932 Bell Road in Dillwyn, will have its annual Harvest Festival on Sunday immediately following the worship service. There will be a bounce house, hayrides, a cake walk, hot dogs, soups, desserts and more games and fun for all ages. For more information contact Pat Allen at (434) 983-3158.
The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, a nonprofit organization, will be hosting its regular monthly meeting Saturday at 1 p.m. at Buckingham Baptist Church, 24234 N. James Madison Highway.

A surprise birthday super was given in honor of Virginia Boyles of Cumberland on her 85th birthday Sept. 27 at her home. A large crowd of friends and family gathered for great food, fun and fellowship.
Shiloh New Covenant Church, five miles east of Cumberland Courthouse, located at 665 Anderson Highway, partnering with Central Virginia FeedMore Program, will be operating The Shiloh New Covenant Food Pantry Commodity Supplemental Food Program for seniors age 60 years and older. Food will be distributed on Tuesday from 1-3 p.m. and they will be accepting applications for new clients, for all seniors 60 and older who are a Cumberland county resident with a certain income quality. You must bring a form of ID and proof of your monthly income. Also when you become qualified for this food program, you will be contacted by phone from the food bank director when you can start your pick up for the food. Mark your calendars now for the 2017 Historic Appomattox Railroad Festival which will be held Oct. 14 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Oct. 15, noon-5 p.m.
Victory Baptist Church, located at 157 Dove Lane Spout Springs, will be hosting special services Sunday. Sunday school classes will begin at 10 a.m. for all ages. Following will be morning worship at 10:30 a.m. featuring Southern Gospel Music at its best with Truly Blessed from South Carolina.
