Alma Young Overstreet, 95, of Rice, Va., passed away September 9, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her husband Odell and parents Howard and Hopie Young, one brother, Russell, and three sisters, Maude Y. Lloyd, Virginia Young and Ruth Goggin.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald (Debbie) of Lynchburg, VA and Tony (Rachael) of Burkeville, grandchildren, David Overstreet, Jennifer Wilkerson, Kristen Oumsieh, (Mudar) of Miami, Florida and Nathan Overstreet of Lynchburg, great-grandchildren, Ava, Vivian and Evelyn Overstreet, Azara and Zayne Oumsieh.

She was employed by Craddock Terry Shoe Factory for 31 years.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 11 a.m. at Shorter Funeral Home with interment in Trinity Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Donations can be made to Habitat for Humanity.
