In a class hosted by Pamplin Volunteer Fire and Rescue, W.C. Newman Co. Inc. recently allowed use of its facility for numerous volunteer fire departments across the Heart of Virginia to train in responding to a diversity of emergencies including, hazardous materials operations, rescue skills in low- and high-angle environments, establishing landing zones for helicopter operations, victim management and knots and anchoring systems. We commend W.C. Newman Co. Inc. for allowing volunteers to train at its facility for the hands-on portion of the class, which was funded by the Virginia Department of Fire Programs. We also commend the area volunteer firefighters who took part for their dedication to our community. Pictured are, from left, James Chrimes, Patrick Eason, Ben Haug and Alyssa Kayleigh Jamerson.
